Coffee by day and wine at night. Here’s a cafe that speaks the language of Dianne loud and clear as I need the coffee to motivate me to work by day and the wine to motivate me to sing and dance and what have you by night.

The owners of Take Five Cafe have 10+ years of catering experience, including catering on movie sets and whose formula of tasty substantial fare at reasonably price points has been so successful that there are ten locations, the most recent of which has opened in Gastown at 62 Cordova Street.

At the media event, we had the pleasure of tasting the following sandwiches and paninis:  Vietnamese Chicken, Roasted Veggie, Oven Roasted Turkey, Roasted Lamb, Buffalo Salami with Peppercorn, Spanish Dried Chorizo.  There was also Quinoa Salad, Lemon Squares, Tiramisu and more.  The average price of a panini is $7 and desserts are only $2.75!

The Gastown location though will be the only Take 5 Cafe offering wine at night. The objective here: to create a casual comfortable space for people to gather and enjoy wine at affordable prices.

Hello, you had me at affordable because you can find a glass of wine at this Take 5 Café location for $8 and there are even a few bottles which are $35 – $45 (Penfolds Koonunga Shiraz Cab, Nk’kip Pinot Blanc, Mission Hill Chardonnay Reserve to name a few) which is well below what other establishments are selling the same bottle at – insert dance of grape stomping here.  There’s even a $15 wine flight which offers you a selection three wines (2-oz each).

Servers at this location will also be trained to recommend wines as to ensure patrons the optiminal wine experience.  This Take 5 Café location also intends to offer wine and antipasto tastings to educate and stimulate.
